Welcome to
Ms. Calais’ Classroom
Hi, My name is Calais and I am a New York State Certified Teacher. I studied at St. John’s University where I received a dual Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and Students with Disabilities as well as my Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology. I have experience working with general education students and students with disabilities.
I enjoy helping students engage and learn in fun and creative ways. I love seeing my students learn and grow and reach their fullest potential. I have taught in the subject area of Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies. I have experience with the New York State elementary school curriculum and standards for all of the subject areas listed. I have experience working with Students with Disabilities and writing and implementing Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and their IEP goals. I believe that every child is unique and learns in their own way and it is my job to find out how to make learning fun, interesting, engaging and successful for each individual student.
